Founder
Dr. Taylor Mizuno-Moore is the owner and founder of Longboarders LLC. She is a queer and biracial (Japanese/American) Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), organizational consultant, and musician. She is also a Partner at Deadstock Hospitality and an Affiliate Professor in the Masters of Counseling program at Northwestern University.
Taylor attended the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). She earned her BA in East Asian Language and Literature from the University of California, Irvine, an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University, and a Doctorate (EdD) in Organizational Psychology with a specialization in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California (USC). She also completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at Yale University’s Child Study Center under Dr. Eli Lebowitz and Dr. Wendy Silverman.
With a background as a professional musician, Taylor enjoys working with artists, musicians, actors, and other creatives, alongside her expertise in LGBTQIA+ identity development and intersectionality. She is a pioneering clinician integrating individual-level clinical training and systems-level organizational psychology education in order to comprehensively approach the analysis of systems. Her research explores the integration of group relations theory and ambient anxiety and its influence on organizational efficiency.
Taylor has served on the Administrative Team and Directorate for the Chicago Group Relations Conference in the Tavistock Tradition and has participated in several group relations conferences (GRCs). She is an active member of the Chicago Center for the Study of Groups and Organizations (CCSGO) and the A.K. Rice Institute (AKRI). She has presented her group dynamics research at several conferences and organizations, including the Sexual Health Alliance (SHA) Conference, the Head South Podcast, the Wantrepreneur to Entrepreneur Podcast, and the Chicago Center for the Study of Groups and Organizations (CCSGO).
Taylor is a member of the Film Musicians Secondary Markets Fund and SAG-AFTRA.
